|
Provide overall management and a single point of interface for all issues pertaining to the TWTC VoIP/Soft Switch Network. Accountable to ensure the functionality, stability, and optimal performance of the VoIP network. Provide next level support for the VoIP Network and Platforms to various organizations including Provisioning, Customer Technical Assistance Center, Network Reliability Center and Field Operations. Interface directly with Engineering and vendors to ensure the VoIP Network and Platforms are performing to defined levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure all elements of the network are functioning at an optimal performance level.
- Review, approve and coordinate implementation of all software upgrades or patches pertaining to the VoIP network elements.
- Work with Technology, Marketing, Operations, and Vendors on proposals to enhance and/or expand the functionality of the VoIP network.
- Provide a single point of interface to internal and external clients on issues pertaining to the VoIP/Softswitch network.
- Support TWTC Transition to a “Data” company by working closely with other teams covering OSI Layers 1-7.
- Maintain adequate staffing by recruiting, selecting, and mentoring employees.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge.
- Exhibit leadership qualities by taking the initiative to identify and resolve issues.
- Ensure objectives and goals of the NOC are met in relation to customer service down times.
- Support 7X24 hour manager on-call requirements.
- Direct knowledge of Sonus and Broadsoft platforms and operations.
- Knowledge of IP messaging and voicemail platforms.
- Server knowledge to support production servers supporting the VoIP network
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Knowledgeable in all aspects of personnel and business management.
- Strong problem analysis skills.
- Must have and display interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
- Able to work in a 7x24 environment including on-call rotation.
- 10% travel will be a requirement as role has remote reports.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- College degree and relevant telecom and switching experience to include Softswitch and VoIP technology experience.
- A minimum of 5 years management/leadership experience in a telecommunications environment is required.
- A understanding of telecommunications alarm surveillance & network management platforms and processes is required.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in a telecommunications maintenance Network Operations Center or a similar telecommunications environment is required.
- A working knowledge of IP/Data, Switch, and Transport technologies.
- Must be able to be on-call after normal business hours as needed.
