Approximately 75 contract amendments/new contracts and 18 RFP's will be submitted to Business Services for processing this fiscal year. This position will be dedicated to supporting this workload. -Serve as a resource on solicitation, contract and procedural issues -Develop and prepare contracts and contract amendments -Enter funding/encumbrance data into Oracle Financial systems -Provide assistance and training to staff in preparation and negotiation of contracts -Draft and award solicitation documents in compliance with procurement procedures -Facilitate the solicitation process, including evaluation and contract award -Interact with vendors regarding contract issues -Develop strategies to resolve potential procurement and contract problems including managing procurement process and contracts effectively to meet organizational goals and objectives 1. Compliance & Knowledge a. Ensure related policies which govern contracting activities are adhered to by all client groups. This person is accountable for being fully knowledgeable of all relevant policies b. Demonstrated experience in negotiating standard contract terms, such as confidentiality, indemnification and termination. 2. Contracts Planning & Development a. Responsible for working with the end user to determine specifications and ensure understanding of contract terms b. Evaluates contract language and works with the department manager and legal department to develop appropriate terms and conditions c. Participates in process improvement or other projects that enhance and streamline contracting processes, systems, tools and other resources d. Provides direction and training to Client groups regarding good business procedures and contract business terms 3. Contracts Management & Operations a. Manages the contract process from initial request to contract execution b. Utilizes department specific tools to accurately record and report all related contract data c. Ensures regular, timely and thorough communication with all internal and external parties d. Ensures timely, accurate and thorough data entry into departmental systems and databases to ensure accurate record maintenance e. Participates in team meetings and other forums as required f. Work collaboratively with all client groups across Client, Procurement staff and suppliers to ensure a coordinated and efficient contract implementation process g. Strong attention to detail h. Must be a highly organized and efficient self-starter who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision i. Ability to gather large amounts of information from different sources, assess and assimilate requirements, RFP's and terms sheets and convert them into contractual language j. Able to prioritize, multi-task and meet multiple deadlines in a short time frame for multiple internal clients *MUST have heavy contract DRAFTING experience, not just contract administration *3-5 years of recent and relevant experience MANDATORY Skills: - Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform multiple complex tasks - Detail oriented, excellent organizational skills & ability to manage own workflow - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to state opinions ***PLEASE APPLY ONLY IF YOU MEET THE ABOVE SPECIFICATIONS*** ***PLEASE ATTACH RESUME IN WORD FORMAT**** Job Experience: Public Sector Experience HIGHLY PREFERRED.
