Responsible for overseeing all appraisal ordering and review, quality control, the formulation of appraisal policy and procedures, all appraisal related compliance issues, and as required the resolution of valuation disputes.

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and oversee appraisal function including appraisal policy and procedures, third-party appraiser relationships and all compliance related issues.

Provide detailed review and analysis of appraisal reports to ensure that quality and quantity guidelines are met and the conclusions reached in the report are accurate.

Manage third party appraiser relationships to ensure quality of reports. Make recommendations on fee appraisers to lines of business.

Partner with lines of business to provide professional advice and interpretations of relevant federal and state laws related to relevant forms of collateral.

Proactively identify risks and trends related to the appraisal function and develop solutions to protect the assets of the bank.

Assist in asset planning by providing appraisal and return on asset values consultation to Executive Management.

Collaborate with credit risk to provide portfolio valuation models.

Maintain knowledge within assigned region of appraisal standards and regulatory guidelines.


Minimum of 7 years appraisal experience in the banking industry or related field.
Minimum of a bachelors degree in Business, Finance, or related field. Must be a certified Appraiser OR MAI designation or its equivalent highly preferable
Strong analytical and decision making skills. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with multiple constituent groups and develop internal relationships in order to effectively carry out strategy. Strong internal customer service skills and orientation is required.
Demonstrated experience in managing teams and third part providers to deliver high-quality end products in a complex environment.
Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
