Duties: SENIOR CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER I Leads construction engineers in a broad range of construction engineering work within a specific engineering discipline for a particular area of the project. Provides engineering assistance to superintendents, directs assigned personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifies materials, equipment, and quality and assures results meet design requirements. On a large project, independently performs assigned activities in one discipline, interfacing with other disciplines in all areas of the jobsite. On a small to medium-sized project, functions as a lead discipline engineer, coordinating related discipline activities and interfacing with other areas/disciplines on the jobsite. -Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety -Provides leadership and takes personal accountability for site safety, environmental, and health program. -Reviews Design documents, 3D Model, and vendor fabrication drawings for completeness, adequacy, and constructability items. Communicates with design engineering and vendors as required. -Communicates with design engineering and vendors to resolve issues, including preparation of field change documents -Communicates with procurement to prioritize, expedite and control material deliveries to the site. -Prepares field material requisitions for permanent and temporary materials. Duties include performance of technical evaluations. -Perform technical reviews for appropriate field vendor / fabricator drawings submittals -Assists field procurement in inspection and receipt of materials, and address all quality concerns with suppliers.. -Coordinates construction plan and sequence with project planners, supervision and other disciplines -Assists instrument / electrical supervision and project controls in preparation of short term work plan and mini-schedules. Good planning and organization skills are required. -Executes field take offs from Issued For Construction drawings, provides input to the quantity tracking applications and reports weekly installed quantities to Project Controls. -Assist in development and execution of instrumentation bulks work packaging program (Instruments, Impules Lines, Sample Lines etc) -Provides technical assistance to Electrical Field engineers, Superintendants, and crafts by defining wired device Instrument Location. -Assists in planning of electrical raceway work activities. -Provides technical assistance to the Instrument Superintendent and crafts. -Verifies materials, equipment, and workmanship, to ensure all installation meets all contract, design and code requirements. -Performs inspections and documentation of all instrument work in progress on a continuing basis to ensure quality and conformance to project specifications, codes, and contract (customer) requirements are met. (Instruments, Impules Lines, Sample Lines etc) -Commitment to continuous improvement of the Field Engineering and Construction work process. -Assist Project Field Engineer in identifying lessons learned, and work process improvements (PIPs). -Proactive in persuing new technologies, construction methods and materials resulting in better project execution. -Co-ordination of assigned sub-contractors.
