The Strategic Systems Program is currently seeking a highly qualified Solutions Architect to lead technology and solution development across our program portfolios. The position is a senior leadership position, and reports directly to the Program Director.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of solution development involving tools, processes and people, and will have led distributed teams in a complex integration effort. While an engineering background is necessary to enable the effectiveness of the role, the ability to communicate, coordinate, collaborate, and lead in a visible and proactive manner is more important to this position. BAE Systems' program equities span the product/service life cycle, and require a technical visionary who can work as a team leader to develop, articulate, and implement an integrated strategy across a broad set of technical and business disciplines. To be successful, the candidate must be skilled at translating customer ideas into models and plans that are cost effective, yet innovative and compelling. As a significant new weapon system concept phase has begun, there is a heightened requirement for highly collaborative engineering coordination, interface control, configuration and data management, integration and test planning, verification and validation planning, and logistics/sustainment strategy development. The ideal candidate will be highly engaging, team-oriented, customer-focused, and able to respond rapidly to a dynamic systems environment. The ability to execute the details of a plan is imperative, and theorists will not thrive.
The Solutions Architect will establish operational objectives and strategic plans, and delegate assignments to subordinate managers. Responsibilities include control of planning, development, and implementation of pervasive business and engineering processes, and coordination of those processes with senior customer leadership. The position involves a high degree of customer engagement at the SES level, and the candidate must have a relevant history in this area.
Our team is excited about the future, and we are building for excellence. Must Have: - Minimum 10 years experience directly supporting U.S. Navy weapon systems programs - Minimum 5 years experience as a Program Manager within the Defense industry - Minimum 1 year experience directly supporting the U.S. Navy Strategic Systems Program Office - Experience with business process development and implementation - Experience with engineering process development and implementation
