Under general supervision, performs assessment and auditing functions for the Quality & Performance Assessment organization at a nuclear location. In this capacity the individual applies the various performance assessment and compliance auditing program elements within an assigned area to verify consistency with industry standards, regulatory requirements, procedural guidance, and management directives.Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (*essential job functions)
1. Implement procedures and checklists in the performance of direct observations, record reviews, corrective action program trending, and personnel interviews to determine performance is in conformance with requirements and specifications.
2. Apply high level analytical and problem-solving skills when comparing complex assessment data, audit data and insights with desired outcomes and target performance attributes to identify beneficial practices, weaknesses, and non-conformances.
3. Utilize the corrective action program and quality finding process to document instances of non-conformances and significant opportunities for performance improvement.
4. Evaluate results achieved from previously completed corrective actions to determine their effectiveness and ability to prevent recurrence of the original initiating conditions.
5. Prepare assessment activity reports and compliance auditing plans assimilating deficiencies and improvement opportunities into problems statements with corresponding direct and indirect causes as well as resolution recommendations.
6. Analyze assessment and auditing outcomes to determine if adverse performance trends or cross-cutting conditions exist.
7. Integrate operating experience and best practices into assessment plans to determine performance enhancement opportunities and identify potential latent programmatic vulnerabilities.
8. Develop and maintain performance assessment and compliance auditing program materials including implementing procedures and checklists.
9. Serve on Q&PA training advisory and curriculum review committees.
10. Participate in training and developmental activities to support continuing qualification and professional certification pursuit.

Job Specifications:
Knowledge: Maintain a questioning attitude and appropriate level of skepticism. High level of knowledge of Nuclear Division policies, programs, procedures, documentation and activities. Proficient in use of personal computer-based business applications.

Skills/Abilities: Proficient in use of personal computer-based business applications.

Education/Experience: Completion of two years post-secondary technical curriculum or equivalent. Qualified as both performance assessor and compliance auditor in accordance with ANSI/NQA-1 requirements. Possess a minimum of eight years experience at a nuclear power plant in the area of operations, maintenance, technical services, or quality assurance. Possess a minimum of four years quality experience, or possess a BS degree in Engineering, Physical Science or other technical area, or be certified as a Senior Reactor Operator.
