General Overview
A Van Driver provides transportation for elderly and disabled, to and from medical appointment. Good judgement, common sense, and safe driving practices are an every day occurrence. Van Drivers may be required to assist in other operational duties such as special events, and/or needs as determined by management.
As Inventory Facilities Coordinator is responsible for duties associated with the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing and monitoring of all medical and office inventory used at the health center. Incumbent is also responsible for general maintenance of the health center.
Job Description
Transportation Associate Duties:
Operates vehicles in accordance with Partners Healthcare System policies as well as in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Inspects vehicle at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure operating effectiveness.
(A walk-around inspection of all safety-related items will be included in the inspection.)
Reports any damage and inoperative or inoperable equipment to the Admin. Manager.
Maintains the interior vehicle while the vehicle is under operators control.
Maintains an accurate log documenting numbers of passengers, number of trips completed or other information which might be requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
When operating passenger coach or passenger van-type vehicles:
Transports passengers in a safe and courteous fashion between designated stops on an established route or to and from specific sites as part of a specially arranged trip.
Ensures the safety and comfort of passengers on the vehicle.
Assists elderly and or handicapped passengers to board and alight from the vehicle.
Maintains schedule and established routes.
Uses discretion to deviate from prescribed routes when environmental conditions and/or special events create traffic congestion (Snow Storms).
Requests identification badge from all passengers.
All assignments are completed in a safe and timely fashion.
Inventory Facilities Coordinator Duties:
Responsible for the purchasing, material management, inventory control and printing for the health center. Develop and maintain computer inventory control systems necessary for efficient utilization of health center supplies. Maintain proper level of supplies to meet expected demand. Fill department weekly orders. Research through vendors and Purchasing availability and cost of new supplies at the request of health center personnel.
Update ordering manual and order supply catalogues as needed. Place orders for all medical supplies, office supplies, forms and pharmaceutical supplies via hospitals through PeopleSoft. Check packing slips and merchandise against purchase orders, send packing slips to receiving when order is complete. Check all open purchase orders. Determine merchandise not delivered and secure delivery date. Arrange for return or wrong or damaged merchandise through Purchasing. Maintain inventory of give always.
Coordinate teleconferencing connections for all teleconferencing meetings. Coordinate and set up all audiovisual equipment. Responsible to call in monthly copy usage for health center. Responsible for conference room set-ups.
Outreach Duties:
Coordinate with Health Center staff and providers to ensure high quality and accessible health care. Serve as a resource to the primary care practices. Provide linkage between the community, the patient, and the Health Center.
Assists providers and patients to and from home visits.
Participates in community-based meetings and events.
Qualifications
HIgh school diploma or equivalent required.
Current valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Class C.
