Position Description: Will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of compressors at Station MEP-2 located in Atlanta, Texas, as it relates to pipelines, compressors, auxiliary equipment, engines, turbines, motors, cooling equipment, pump stations, pumps, valves and other related equipment. Start, stop, and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters. Ensure the cost effective and efficient performance of all engines, pumps, and associated equipment at the compressor stations and pipelines. Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, seals, valves and instruments. Install, repair, service and maintain valves, pipe and pipeline appurtenances. Responsible for general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment, including pipeline right-of-way including but not limited to excavating, repairing, coating and backfilling pipelines, concrete work, painting, building erection, weed control, electrical maintenance, etc. Maintain, adjust, make minor repairs, and operate equipment (e.g., industrial wheeled tractors, water pumps, air compressions, coolers, test equipment, vehicles, etc.). Represent the Company during contracts with landowner/tenants, public officials/emergency officials and at local meetings. (One call, Pipeline Groups, Soil Conservation, USFS, etc.) Oversee construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties. Train and oversee company and third party personnel as required (e.g., personnel in progression, transport drivers, contractors, and visitors). Perform governmental compliance activities (DOT, State Agencies, EPA, USFS, etc.). I.D., report and correct safety and environmental concerns. Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives. Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific Procedures, project scopes and work plans. Completing all applicable documentation and recordkeeping. Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, regulatory, and Company tariff requirements. Maximum response time to call-outs is one (1) hour. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements: Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Associateýý s degree in Mechanical field or Trade school, formal training/significant work experience required.
Job Requirements
Basic mechanical skills in the repair of engines, compressors, pumps, etc. Ideal candidates must be detailed oriented with demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills Interact positively with customers and respond to customer inquires. Ability to work outside majority of the time and withstand extreme weather conditions. Ability to perform physical requirements of the position including but not limited to working in confined spaces; walking up and down stairs and ladders; negotiating uneven surfaces and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals). Must possess effective verbal and written communications skills. Must possess basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software). Must maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance. Must be available for shift work when applicable overtime when required - will be required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and must be available to respond during working and non-working hours on a rotating basis, and work overtime as required; maximum response time to call-outs is one (1) hour. Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules, as well as, take on additional job responsibilities as needed.
