Position Description: Position Description Position will report to the new Atlanta Compressor Station (MEP-2) on the MEP pipeline system. ıııInitial responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Construction inspection, commissioning/start-up of 2 compressor stations and possibly temporary assignment to an existing compressor station facility for training purposes. ıııPrimary responsibility is to provide technical support for compressor station operations at MEP-2 (Atlanta, Tx.).
Duties will include, but are not limited to: E&C - Installation, operation and maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems - Assist with performance monitoring of all engine/compressor units, mechanical equipment, and electrical equipment. - Provide adequate communication and documentation of the mechanical health of equipment to local management. - Provide technical support to increase the reliability of all associated equipment. - Provide technical support for station and engine automation. - Provide troubleshooting skills to resolve problems encountered by local personnel. ıııPosition is required to carry a cell phone and/or pager, to respond to after hour "call outs" due to equipment and/or operational problems and work overtime on an as needed basis. Some travel may be required.
Position Requirements: Position Requirements Educational Requirements ıııTwo (2) year Associate degree in a technical discipline from an accredited school, or equivalent work experience.
Job Requirements - Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting electrical, mechanical and pneumatic control systems. - Technical knowledge of reciprocating engines. - Technical knowledge of reciprocating compressors. - Strong analytical skills. - Adequate computer skills (MS Office, operating systems, company software, and technical systems). - Effective written and oral communication skills. - Acceptable job performance & acceptable record of safe work practices. - Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems. - Adequate knowledge of NEC philosophies/procedures and classified locations. - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electronic, and electrical equipment and controls. - Ability to actively support the region's safety program. - Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work assignments in an acceptable time frame with a minimum of supervision. - Ability to work in a team environment, take direction from supervisor, keep required job schedules, focus on details, and follow work rules. - Required to maintain technical proficiency. - Must possess and maintain a valid driverıı s license and meet company insurability requirements. - Required to successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to being hired. - Required to carry a cell phone and/or pager, to respond to after hour "call outs" due to equipment and/or operational problems and work overtime on an as needed basis. - Some travel may be required. - Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge - Five years experience as an instrumentation technician. - Strong technical knowledge of reciprocating engines and compressors. - Strong technical knowledge of engine and compressor controls. - Strong technical knowledge of PLC and RLL.
