In June 1996 the United States Air Force (USAF) established the AFAMS as the AF top-level agency responsible for implementation, integration and support of AF, Joint and DoD M&S efforts. AFAMS is recognized as the AF leader and focal point for M&S and supports development and use of simulation for training, analysis, acquisition, test and evaluation (T&E), and operations. The goal was to lead the translation of the AF vision, policy and direction into effective M&S capabilities integrated to create a seamless, realistic environment that provides on-demand access in sufficient fidelity to allow Warfighters the opportunity to explore and determine ways to dominate and control the full range of military operations. AFAMS was conceived, is organized, and operates in a manner that fully integrates contractor support into its structure. As a result it requires specialized operational and technical assistance to enable AFAMS to possess the capabilities and expertise needed to fulfill its required mission as the AF Center of Excellence for M&S, delivering realistic, reusable, and cost-effective tools for operations, training, analysis, and execution support, and thereby ensuring the contributions of air, space & cyberspace are accurately represented to the Joint Warfighter. AFAMS requires a European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) to provide highly knowledgeable and extremely effective M&S support for AFAMS as its mission in M&S relates to the USAF, other Services, Joint, Coalition partners, and to specific US COCOMS in their respective AORs. The European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) shall be intimately familiar with their respective AOR and it is highly desirable if the European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) actually worked and lived overseas or been assigned while on military active duty in the respective area. The Theater European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) must be conversant with AOR issues, methods, and systems used to support COCOM exercises. The European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) shall have in-depth subject matter knowledge and wide range of experience necessary to provide guidance and information critical to successful execution of a given exercise/event. The European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) shall demonstrate an understanding of AFAMS missions and how they relate the rest of the M&S community and operations in general. In addition, the European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) must be able to interact with personnel from lower ranking technical personnel to high ranking (GO-level) personnel on exercise issues and problems. The European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME (Operational) shall possess and maintain a Top Secret-SCI clearance. It is desirable that the European/Africa Theater Military Analyst SME has and be capable of documenting the following demonstrated specialized experience and/or knowledge: • Demonstrated experience planning, coordinating, executing, and participating in major DoD training exercises/events. • Demonstrated AOR knowledge of the physical geography of the respective countries and of the military organizations, bases, and posts. • Possess an in-depth AOR understanding of the military and geo-political structure to include the U.S. and how the U.S. structure relates to the foreign. • Ability to organize information, write and communicate clearly in a fast paced and dynamic environment. • Ability to manage, trac
