DescriptionManages and generates writing and production of technical reports and policies, database operations methods, server support instructions and process or operations procedures manuals. Ensures and develops editorial standards, headquarters-level branding of products, and preserves the look and feel of families of related publications. Assists in coordination of publication development, distribution or vetting with outside sources, users, and vendors as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Organizes and collects needed information for writing assignments-manages documentation or information collection projects using proven project management methods and support tools. · Coordinates document reviews, validation or vetting among local or cross-community teams. · Conducts or validates research on a subject matter by employing well-developed skills in interviewing and observing subject matter experts and documenting operating processes. · Reviews and updates documentation disseminated, posted or created by queries. Ensures proper formats used by end-users are used in published or accessible media. · Able to generate and provide basic visualization displays to support the technical writing requirements. · Can work with writing, graphics, database, web publication applications and collaboration tools. · Can write about networks, communications protocols, server activities and products, Sybase, SQL, Oracle and MS-Access activities. · Team skills allow interfaces with illustrators, photographers, print and web designers, artists, and other support personnel as required to complete assignments. · Manages the editing, composition, production, and delivery in accordance with applicable specifications, standards. · Can work with · Establishes guidelines and standards for text and graphics in terms of end-user ease of use and discoverability. · Manages the coordination of ancillary services and activities for publication preparations. · Produces publications using computerized composition and text-management systems and tools. Can work with . · Maintains structured quality assurance approaches and writing process standards to ensure that quality publications are consistently produced and quality goals are met. · Completes projects per agreed upon schedules and authorized funding. · Provides work leadership to subordinates and work teams. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Seeking bachelors degree (in related technical field) or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related (technical writing/editing) experience.
