Our full life-cycle systems capabilities include system design, integration and test, software development engineering, and maintenance and integrated logistics support.
BAE Systems is seeking a Service Line Manager to oversee the Safety and Coordination area of SP.This challenging opportunity is located in Silver Spring/Aspen Hill area and will relocate to our new facility in Rockville in the Spring of 2010. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating staff involvement in safety studies concerned with the design, production, integration, operation, and maintenance of complex nuclear/conventional weapon systems. You will also coordinate technical evaluations of ccomplex systems to include changes to system interface coordination with respect to personnel safety.Other responsibilities will include the coordination of qualitative and/or quantitative Probability Risk Assessments and System Hazard Analysis. Coordination of the Conduct of independent hazard assessment reviews for impacts to system and personnel safety and the maintenance of a hazard tracking database. Coordinating the review of technical documentation/drawings/instructions for impact to system and personnel safety. Coordinating independent recommendations to the customer for contractor originated changes. Coordinates reviews of nuclear accident/incident reports, waivers, deviations, Blue Ribbon Committee studies and TFRs/URs affecting safety. Coordinates the development of DoD mandated System Safety Analysis, Inadvertent launch Analysis (ILAs) and Unauthorized Launch Analysis (ULA).
MUST HAVE
1. Extensive SWS/AWS and nuclear weapons experience; a minimum of at least 8 years.
2. Eligibility for DOD TS level clearance
3. Evidence of mechanical aptitude, with a basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices.
4. Exhibited the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
5. Excellent presentation (oral and written) skills.
6.Customer interface experience.
7. Ability and willingness to travel.

PREFERRED TO HAVE
1. Active TS clearance
2. Bachelors degree in a related engineering field with an emphasis on safety.
3. Knowledge of system engineering principles.
4. SubSafe program experience
