Role Summary/Purpose:The Senior Communications Manager will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional areas area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall strategy.Essential Responsibilities:Lead the development and execution of a wide variety of executive and commercial communications initiatives, which support the strategic and operating goals of GE Energys Optimization and Control (OC) business unit; Manage a team of direct reports in accomplishing these objectivesExecutive communications responsibility will be for strategic communications plans and programs to support the OC business vice-president and select executive staff (This includes strategy planning, coaching, and messaging for connecting both internal and external audiences to the business vision and growth objectives); Drive a consistent communications model and expectations among the executive staff and coordinate with the OC internal communications leader for deployment to the global employee baseExecutive positioning and placement in industry, academia, and internally to expand the industry thought and technology leadership position for the OC business, including keynote speaking, committee chairs and memberships, and forum session leadsParticipate at strategic and tactical levels as counsel for the OC executive staff with shared accountability to the OC Communications Manager and the OC business vice-presidentKey commercial responsibility will be for the Bently Nevada Asset Condition Monitoring business; Commercial activities include, but are not limited to: customer and marketing communications, brand building, brochures and collateral, executive presentations and preparation, advertising, publicity and promotions, web & digital marketing, technical seminars & webinars, and customer events (Special emphasis will be on digital outbound and inbound marketing to take advantage of innovative new media opportunities)Develop and implement an annual communication plan; Identify, select, and coordinate outsourced resources as needed to assist in execution of the above activitiesWork with other regional and product line marketing communication teams to deliver major industry and GE-sponsored customer eventsParticipate at strategic and tactical levels as a peer with other functional members of the Bently Nevada product and marketing teams with shared accountability to the OC Communications Manager and the Bently Nevada Product GMQualifications/Requirements:Bachelors degree in Communications, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or other fieldMinimum of 8 years of corporate communications, public relations / agency experience or other, executive and marketing communications experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience in managing a diverse team of direct reports, including employee evaluation, development, and mentoringMinimum of 2 years of experience in positioning, placing, and preparing executives for thought leadership event participationMinimum of 4 years of experience in developing and implementing marketing communications campaignsProficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and ExcelAdditional Eligibility Qualifications:GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work.
