0110736Track laborer will work as a member of a crew to maintain, repair and replace ties, switches and ballast, using hand tools and hand operated equipment; Removes and replaces defective ties and rails; Drills holes through rails for insertion of bolts using hand or power drill; Uses spike maul or jack hammer to drive spike into tie and secure rail; Uses track wrench to tighten or loosen bolts at jints that hold ends or rail together. Must pass a physical, drug and background checks. Must have experience working outdoors. Experience in welding, electrical or mechanical work or heavy equipment operation a plus. Veterans are encouraged to apply. Shifts is usually assigned for daylight hours, but be available for 24/7 for work.
