Description:
This position is responsible for the proper
installation, configuration, and maintenance of the IBM
iSeries computer systems in the data centers.  This
position will monitor and tune systems for optimal
performance and recommend changes and upgrades as
necessary.
· Assist in installation and removal of
hardware as required
· Perform installation and maintenance of
required Operating Systems
·; Perform installation and maintenance of
required Licensed Program Products
· Perform installation and maintenance
of  necessary 3rd Party Programs
· Perform setup and maintenance of systems
security procedures
· Perform setup and maintenance of operating
user environments as required
· Perform setup and maintenance of jobs
necessary to monitor and report on system performance
and utilization
· Monitor and report regularly on standard
system auditing and security
· Create and maintain accurate documentation
of system hardware and software configuration for all
systems
· ;Create and maintain accurate documentation
of all processes and procedures necessary for reliable
data center operations
· Perform duties of  Systems Operators
and Operations Analysts as required
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
 · Requires Systems Administrator
Certification or three (3) years verifiable experience
as Systems Administrator
· Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent
experience will be considered.
· Familiarity with system workflow and tuning
·0;Familiarity with Backup and Recovery
Procedures
· Familiarity with systems security procedures
· Must be able to lift 50-pound boxes
· Must be able to reach top and bottom of a
72" computer rack
· Must have good interpersonal skills and
excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
