This position will lead the Eastern United States Commodity Engineering Airborne Field Technical Support department. The CE organization reports through procurement as part of NGs Global Supply Chain organization. The Field Technical Support organization is responsible for assisting suppliers in the resolution of technical issues incurred in the manufacture of aircraft parts and assemblies ensuring timely delivery of the highest quality material to Northrop Grumman and our customers. This high visibility position requires a motivated, self-starter with an engineering background, strong management and leadership skills to lead a multi-disciplined team in establishing Metallic and Composite Fabrication activities and policies designed to meet the requirements of our customers. Tasks include, but are not limited to: continuous proactive review and improvement of internal processes and supplier performance; collaborate with and provide customers with innovative, cost savings procurement solutions; implement strategic agreements with the supply base; coordinate and drive multi-disciplinary tasks for rapid issue resolution. This position is responsible to lead Airborne Field technical Support staff in conducting reviews of supplier manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, processing, machining and material handling for viability in production of metallic and non-metallic parts and assemblies on behalf of the Global Supply Chain. Included in this task are reviews of the arrangement of machines within supplier facilities and recommending most efficient and productive layout. Reviews sequencing of operations and procedures used in the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Also recommend inspection and test requirements for use in supplier production planning inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.. This position requires excellent communication and analytical skills. Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project required. Bachelor of Science in a technical field and/or Engineering with 10 years experience required.
