Intermittent Investigator:

Our Investigative Services Division is the nation’s leader in background screening services. We provide Federal, state and local government agencies and major corporations with thorough results, often in situations where timing is critical.

As an Intermittent Investigator, you will be in a position of trust, a role that requires integrity, confidentiality, intensity, commitment and pride in your country’s security.

The hourly compensation for the position is $25 per hour for the time spent in administrative tasks, interviewing, and report writing.

The workload in the assigned location will determine the number of hours worked per week and also the length of service.

The Intermittent Investigator position may lead to other opportunities with USIS.

You’ll find that every day is different. Intermittent Investigators spend approximately 75% of their time traveling. They complete record searches and conduct face-to-face interviews to gather information about applicants seeking federal security clearances.

USIS training process for this position may be one of three depending on the workload in the area you are hired for. One type of training is 5 weeks in duration to include 1 week of shadow training within your local office, 2 weeks of classroom training in one of our training facilities, and 2 weeks On-The-Job Training. The second type of training is an 8 day course that consists of 2 days of shadowing, 3 days of eTraining, and 3 days of On-The-Job Training. The third type of training is 6 weeks in duration to include 1 week of shadow training in you local office, 1 week of eTraining, 2 weeks of classroom training, and two weeks of On-The-Job training.

The training is intense, but prepares our Intermittent Investigators to handle one of the most challenging and important careers available today.

Intermittent Investigators work from home, set their schedules, and predominantly work alone. Successful Intermittent Investigators, are self-motivated, highly independent, and prepared to work non-traditional hours (i.e. evenings and weekends).

We are looking for professionals with:
· Superior organizational and time management skills
· Advanced oral and written communication skills
· Strong computer and typing skills for writing narrative reports of investigation
· Bachelor’s degree or 36 months comparable work/military experience

USIS Intermittent Investigators are derived from a multitude of backgrounds. Some of our most successful investigators are from the liberal arts, hotel management, social work, homemaking, military, journalism, and claims adjusting fields. If you have the ability to “talk to anyone” and you meet the requirements you may qualify to be eligible for the Intermittent Investigator position.

Due to the nature of this position, all applicants are required to possess US Citizenship and if selected for employment must pass a pre-employment drug test and a comprehensive background investigation that includes civil, criminal, and credit checks.

All applicants for this position must reside within or be willing to relocate (before the time of hire) to: 20 miles of Atlanta.
