MAJOR POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Enhanced Provider Specialist (Waiver) Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides assistance to waiver providers with billing and claim processing. Responds to telephone inquiries, emails and written correspondence using standard scripting, procedures and letters. Gathers information, researches/resolves inquiries and logs customer calls and correspondence. Communicates with waiver providers and State of Alaska. Informs customers about services available and assesses customer needs. Effectively resolves assignments within specified timelines with attention to quality. Focus on providing excellent customer service in all aspects of contact with providers, recipients and clients. REQUIRED (minimum): Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and/or vocational training. Experience in building/maintaining customer relationships Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Normally receives little instruction on daily work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments. Experience (usually 4-5 years) in claims processing and direct customer service. Ability to maintain production levels and quality goals. Extensive customer service and/or team experience. Advanced knowledge of health care products under both fully insured and self-funded arrangements, medical terminology, diagnosis and procedure coding, and coordination of benefits. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. PERFERRED: Detailed understanding of Medicaid policies and procedures at both Federal and state levels Demonstrated proficiency in adapting/tailoring best practices/processes to business needs.
