Responsibilities
A technician position is immediately available in the Program in Glomerular Disease in the Nephrology Division at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Specifically, we are interested in the role of TRP channels and calcium-mediated signaling in glomerular podocytes and neurons. We are focusing on the mechanisms by which aberrations in calcium signaling lead to cytoskeletal remodeling.
Our work may be ultimately pertinent to a wide array of diseases such as nephrotic syndrome, both genetic and acquired (diabetic nephropathy, membranous nephropathy etc.) as well as neurologic abnormalities. We are using molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture, specialized imaging techniques, electrophysiology and animal models.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a BS or MS degree, and some experience handling and maintaining genetically modified mice. A 2-3 year commitment is required.
Please send resumes to agreka@partners.org
