Responsibilities

This individual is responsible for coordinating the Lung Cancer Tumor Bank, an integrated repository of tumor tissue from patients with lung cancer, with linked clinical and demographic information. Under the supervision of the Chair of the Lung Cancer Tumor Bank Committee, this individual is responsible for consenting patients to enroll into the tumor bank, administrating questionnaires, and coordinating tumor pathology collection from surgery to path. This individual will also update clinical information on patients who are enrolled in the tumor bank and related clinical databases, including tumor and patient characteristics, treatment, and clinical outcomes.

Requirements

Position requires basic understanding of oncology and health care, typically obtained through previous work within a health care organization. Previous experience in clinical research environment strongly preferred. Must be able to work well with patients and clinicians in a busy clinical setting. Self-motivated and able to work well independently, while interfacing well with a varied group of clinicians and researchers, including oncologists, surgeons, nurses, and clinical research assistants.
