Koch Fertilizer, LLC and its subsidiaries own and invest in nitrogen fertilizer production and storage capacity in North America, Europe, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela. The company's fertilizer interests manufacture, market and distribute more than 8 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska which produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba which produces primarily anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminaling assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.
Koch Nitrogen Company is seeking a motivated and self driven Terminal Operator to work in our ammonia terminal in Keota, Iowa. The successful candidate will be responsible for operations and maintenance of an anhydrous ammonia terminal consisting of receipt ammonia from a pipeline, ammonia refrigeration, storage, ammonia heating, and truck loading. The role includes maintaining regulatory compliance and safety systems.
Requirements: - Must be able to climb stairs, pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator and full Level A (SCBA) Personal Protective Equipment - Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds, hand operate valves, use hand tools - Willing to work extended hours as required - Willing to be on a rotating 24 hour on-call schedule nights and weekends - Must live/or be willing to live within 30 minutes of the terminal - Knowledge of PSM, EH&S compliance, and ammonia terminal operations or related chemical type facilities - Ability to understand procedures and safety & environmental risks associated with related handling, shipping, & storing anhydrous ammonia - Effectively communicate to managers, customers, and peers - Experience or training in the installation, maintaining, operation, and troubleshooting complex electrical equipment, and electronic and pneumatic control systems - Mechanical aptitude or background - 3+ years experience in chemical handling facility experience or equivalent background - Instrumentation and electrical technical training or equivalent experience - Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook - H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred - Experience working with chemical shipping & storage equipment or equivalent skills, and the ability to demonstrate adequate knowledge of the equipment and ammonia refrigeration process - Instrumentation controls / electrical technician background - PLC programming - 5+ years experience in ammonia handling facility - Associate Degree in Instrumentation and Electrical Technical field Compensation/Benefits Competitive wages and benefits packages commensurate with experience.
