Position Description: ýýýReads repair job order and perform the diagnosis of: o routine maintenance repairs, o preventive maintenance inspections, o trouble shooting and systematic problem detecting of systems (i.e. hydraulic, electronic, mechanical, A/C) ýýýPlan work procedures to repair vehicle. ýýýInstalls new ignition systems, changes or recharges batteries, replaces transmissions and other parts, and overhauls gas or diesel engines. ýýýExamines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and makes adjustments. ýýýLubricates moving parts and drives ýýýMount and dismount tires. ýýýPerform preventive maintenance per company standards. Additional duties include: focus on customer service and the adherence to safety and environmental policies and procedures. ýýýMay travel to other facilities to perform duties of fleet mechanic
Position Requirements: ýýý3+ years recent fleet, automotive, or truck vehicle maintenance experience in a shop environment. ýýý1+ years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required. ýýýGasoline, diesel and propane vehicle experience preferred. ýýýMust be able to demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude. ýýýOperational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools normally associated with the troubleshooting and repairs of gasoline and diesel truck equipment. ýýýTroubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of vehicles. ýýýPerform preventative maintenance in fleet. ýýýKnowledge of D.O.T. and FMCSA guidelines. ýýýStrong communication and teamwork skills. ýýýMust have your own tools. (Not including heavy duty or diagnostic tools.) ýýýSuperior knowledge of electrical and air-conditioning systems. ýýýMedium-duty truck experience preferred. ýýýStrong work ethic and dependable character ýýýMust be at least 18 years of age. ýýýHave a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with KM's insurance standards. ýýýHave a steady employment history. ýýýSuccessful completion of company background check and drug screen upon job offer. ýýýAbility to attain TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) as issued by TSA (Transportation Security Administration). ýýýASE Certifications are a plus. ýýýMust be willing and able to work any shift.
