Summary of Position: VeriSign, Inc. has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager, located in Mt. View, California. The qualified individual will provide strategic and tactical leadership across functions to ensure that VeriSign complies with trade requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities: ııı Developing and maintaining VeriSign trade policies, procedures, internal controls and training to ensure that employees understand and follow targeted legal principles involving domestic and foreign trade laws.
ııı Building lasting partnerships with key trade compliance contacts throughout the company, assisting in the establishment and maintenance of processes that ensure VeriSign's ongoing compliance with trade regulations.
ııı Fostering cross-functional communication through leading cross-functional projects relating to trade compliance activities.
ııı Establishing and maintaining import and export recording standards for VeriSign to meet the record keeping requirements of US Customs, US Census, Department of State, Department of Commerce and Department of Treasury.
ııı Working with outside resources to understand local country requirements and processes to ensure ongoing compliance with local regulations.
ııı Acting upon and communicating regulatory updates.
ııı Managing day-to-day export and import activities including compliance issues related to US and local country's export and import regulations.
ııı Assist with and foster relationships with third party providers including consultants, customs brokers, and freight forwarders.
ııı Providing assistance on export and import classifications and licensing, as required.
Qualifications: ııı Bachelor's degree and 5 - 8 years of demonstrated experience in Trade Compliance servicing global, high tech companies.
ııı In depth knowledge of, and extensive experience with Export Administration Regulations with a particular focus on software / encryption controls
ııı Strong project management skills
ııı Must be a strong leader; ability to effectively influence and interact with cross-functional teams across many levels of management.
ııı Experience with customs regulations and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS)
ııı Excellent communication skills both written and oral
ııı Working knowledge of MS Office software and Oracle
