An excellent internship opportunity for college students to supplement your curriculum in health, human/social services, gerontology or related field of study. Obtain intensive training and hands-on experience with seniors who have developmental disabilities and are being given the opportunity to live independent and productive lives in community group homes. Join our dynamic team teaching daily and independent living skills, providing individual and group counseling, and promoting community integration. Receive the supports of a professional and interdisciplinary team, and a supervisor who will guide you through the various roles of a counselor and provide opportunities for your personal and professional growth.
LOCATIONS: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, or Bergen County, NJ.
REQUIREMENTS: * Must be in college pursuing a related major to health and human/social services e.g. psychology, human services, gerontology, sociology, social work, health sciences * Desire to work with the developmentally disabled population
