Complete Description Summary Will have responsibility for coordinating support and enhancement of current and future systems. Participates as an active member of the Surgery Leadership Team in promoting the use of information technology in the clinical setting. Working in partnership with TIS Design and Implementation Teams, Physicians, Nursing, and Executive Senior Management Team, makes recommendations in the appropriate use of Information Technology to enhance patient safety and improve clinician efficiency and productivity. Coordinates the ongoing staff training for each clinical application. Responsible for master file maintenance, application development, interface integration and testing for all surgery applications and associated clinical device, (and any future surgery systems). Participates on the Project Genesis Readiness Team to facilitate incorporation of surgery policy incentives as they relate to implementation of Computerized Nursing Documentation. Works with members of the Surginet Information Team to evaluate the impact of decisions related to changes in current product functionality or design issues. Coordinate and oversee the development, daily operations, security and implementation of the surgery system. Provides analysis and process redesign recommendations and support appropriate project teams, Assists the team in problem resolution and analysis. Assists in development of appropriate policies and procedures. Collaborates with other members of the Trinity Surginet Users Group for the development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of surgery information systems. Oversees outside vendors for the implementation and testing of interfaces to the surgery system. Responsible for the department training and communication about all aspects of the system. Collaborates with Trinity Information Systems regarding hardware and software ordering, installation and maintenance. Oversees the validation process for all levels of implementation and integration testing. Plans for future needs of the Department and HFMH with regard to acquisition, storage, and communication from/to all necessary locations. Provides statistical and operational reports as required. Builds and maintains scheduling and surgical blocks. Monitors daily transfer of billing transactions to provide on-time and accurate patient charges. Corrects and/or edits errors in billing reports and assists with patient bill audits. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of department charges, charge order set(s), department CDM management, and charge capture processes (including crediting charges). Have the ability to execute charge capture processes including charge reconciliation, monitoring and reconciling gross charges daily and monthly, identify and investigate variances, and ensure resolution of issues. Responsible for building and maintaining surgical supply item master in collaboration with Surgical Service material management. In Business Manager's absence, responsible for management of clerical staff. Must be proficient on the applicable software system(s) and how to access and retrieve reports. Obtain, review, and correct errors per error report(s) or upon request. Resolves all problems associated with database, software, hardware, interfaces and reports. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, the Integrity/ Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
