The Sr. Director, Regulatory Counsel position reports to the VP, Regulatory Counsel and supports the organization on a wide variety of insurance, service contract. and other regulatory compliance and government affairs matters. These functions include primary responsibility for providing regulatory compliance guidance to Client Services senior staff and personnel regarding the structure and operation of the insurance, service contract, roadside assistance and other products offered by the Company.
Responsibilities may also include developing, communicating and implementing regulatory compliance guidance across functional areas including Care, TLC, Underwriting, Program Management, Marketing, and Business Development. While focused on US operations, the Sr. Director, Regulatory Counsel may also have responsibilities for oversight of compliance in foreign jurisdictions.
The Sr. Director, Regulatory Counsel also works with insurance underwriters, clients, regulators and outside actuaries, attorneys and government relations staff to set policies and meet objectives with respect to regulatory compliance and government relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for providing regulatory compliance guidance and supporting internal clients on matters pertaining to insurance, service contract, and roadside assistance regulatory requirements and compliance obligations and processes of the Company.
Drafting and negotiating various types of insurance related agreements.
Responsible for assisting the VP, Regulatory Counsel with development of Company strategies and implementing legislative initiatives.
Responsible for assisting the VP, Regulatory Counsel with development, communication and implementation of compliance policies and processes.
Responsible for managing compliance team implementation of various compliance functions and providing leadership, guidance and mentoring to other compliance team members.
Other duties as required based on business needs.

Job Experience:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Attorney Admitted to practice in at least one state and willing to obtain additional admissions as necessary.
Minimum 7 years relevant experience in the insurance or service warranty industry or in private practice supporting the insurance or service warranty industry.
Ideal candidates will have specific experience in property and casualty insurance product development, filing, and product/market conduct oversight.
Experience with regulated insurance industry operations in Europe or elsewhere overseas a plus.
