If you have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or technical training and work related experience (courses in systems analysis and design, DBMS, screen design techniques, forms design, data gathering) this challenging position in our IS&T Desktop Engineering and Technology Department. If you enjoy planning and designing and can coordinate the implementation of automated systems to meet business needs this opportunity is for you. Applicants must be competent to work on highest technical analysis level and able to utilize various planning and project management techniques. They also may serve as team leader in the undertaking of projects and acts as coordinator on planning efforts.

Among the responsibilities are:

- Assists in building MIS and hospital personnel in the development and/or support of planning and implementation of automated and/or manual systems: develop work plans, assigns work and monitors progress of teams members, oversees the development of individual work plans, and provides technical guidance in analytical and planning tasks.
- Evaluates requests for technology systems developments, and enhancements to technical infrastructure.
- Develops a project plan by defining general objectives, scopes. Can develop phase content, estimates time and resource requirements.
- Conducts needs planning and analysis studies, includes evaluation of current environment (user and computer) by observation, interview, and examination of existing systems and infrastructures documentation, manuals, forms etc.
- Conducts feasibility and cost benefit studies
- Documents general and can specify detailed design specifications. Depending on the project, can participate with the user and MIS in design of production and conversion plan to ensure smooth transition from current new environment.
- Designs and can review interface designs for both automated and manual systems, between user systems.
- Assists Manager to establish and maintain effective communication with users and MISers throughout the planning and development life cycle of systems or technology.
- Develops methods to analyze and evaluate outside software; assists and guides MISers and users in the preparation of analysis and recommendation acquisition.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related disciplines, or technical training and work related experience (courses in systems analysis and design, DBMS, screen design techniques, forms design, data gathering, oral and written communication.
