SUMMARY: Under general supervision to transcribe medical dictation; to perform medical stenographic work of a specialized nature at a high rate of speed; and to do related work as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Either I Completion of an approved vocational training program for medical transcription. Or II One year of full-time experience as a Medical Transcriptionist in a hospital or medical institution. Special Requirements: This position requires a typing speed of 40 wpm with a 90% accuracy factor. However, applicants are expected to type 55 wpm with a 90% accuracy by the end of the probationary period. Applicants are initially required to type at the rate of 700 lines per day, net, on magnetic tape-type equipment, such as MT/ST, . Savin, etc.; and are expected to type 900 lines per day within one year from date of appointment. Applicants are required to type at a rate of 500 lines per day, net, on word processor. This position also requires applicants to have sufficient hearing to use the transcribing equipment. full-time day Certificate/Licensure Externship/Intership Completion 1 year of experience relevant to job function
