You will be responsible for leading area team of sales specialists, in the psychiatric therapeutic area, to drive sales performance of product, offerings and successful execution of new product launches. Lead initiatives through implementation of local business strategies in collaboration with cross functional team resources. Key objectives:• Build deep understanding of customers and key stakeholders in the psychiatric and schizophrenia markets including office and institutional-based physicians and other psychiatric centers of influ-ence. Use this knowledge to design innovative & customer-centric strategies that drive sales volume, market share and profitability. • Ensure appropriate tailoring and positioning of product and solution offerings to respond to customers’ needs. Develop business plans with the Regional Director and additional support by a headquarters based sales strategy team.• Develop relationships, establish and maintain an active presence in the psychiatric community, associated organizations and key opinion leader development.• Launch new product, drive sales volume and growth across large territories and establish Novartis as a leader in the psychiatric community. • Responsible for hiring, training and developing sales specialists and performance management to exceed sales goals and objectives• Ensure efficient and effective account targeting and coverage across geographies in scope of re-sponsibility.• Collaborate cross-functionally with Scientific Operations, Key Account Management, Regional Market Leads, and other internal stakeholders to develop actionable business plans. Lead special-ist team in execution of business plans and monitor results.Minimum requirementsBachelors degree (preferably in Life Sciences, Pharmacy or Business related discipline). Masters degree/MBA preferred. Must live within 50 miles of the Area’s border.Three or more years of pharmaceutical sales experience. At least two years of pharmaceutical sales management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience within the anti-psychotics class or schizophrenia disease state. Calling on psychiatrists and or institutions is a plus.This position may require significant travel due to the large geography that the incumbent will be responsible for.
