Responsibilities:
- Set the strategy for energy efficiency, residential and commercial oil to gas conversions, National Grid Energy Services and new product marketing. The definition of marketing strategy being the process for setting marketing goals, target markets, segmentation strategy, messaging objectives and timing in response to market conditions.
- Transform the strategy for marketing energy efficiency. Lead the marketing strategy to deliver and nearly double the shareholder incentive, and negotiate the optimal marketing spend out of a budget of +$200m.
- Lead the marketing strategy for a smart grid and work with Marketing Communications to position National Grid well for cost recovery through the rates for smart metering.
- Deliver a strategy which enables the implementation of oil to gas conversion marketing in a more effective manner driven through customer intelligence. Lead a team to deliver a marketing strategy to achieve a gross profit margin of $45m in FY10.
- Lead the Marketing strategy for self service to deliver savings in excess of $10m.
- Transform the marketing strategy for NGES.
Marketing Strategy Performance Management - Define the strategy for setting the objectives and metrics for each growth product.
- Lead the incentive strategy with Sales to optimize the movement of leads through the sales process for Oil to Gas Conversions.
Financial Management - Deliver a marketing strategic direction which is achievable within the budget constraints.
- Lead the development of strategic marketing processes which deliver efficient and effective objectives and target segments which enable the development of a marketing communications strategy to budget.
National Grid US Customer Brand Strategy -Set the marketing growth strategy in line with the overarching brand strategy.
Process Leadership -Define the framework for the development of growth strategy marketing processes.
Culture Transformation -Transform the marketing personnel development opportunities by leading a team which encourages, coaches, supports and drives a one team approach.
-Ensure all marketing strategy personnel work through the leadership qualities and are driven by customer intelligence and financial strategic thinking.
-Ensure financial management becomes a critical component of the marketing strategy.
Personnel Development -Develop a marketing strategy team which collaborates and works closely with all areas of marketing in particular the interface with Marketing Communications.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's Degree in Marketing required (MBA preferred).
-8+ years of marketing experience (strategy, branding, media, agency management, research, budget development and management) across a variety of industries (experience in energy marketing)
