Brief Overview: The Senior Director, IT Infrastructure Operations and Engineering will play a critical role as a member of the Global IT leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. The Senior Director of Global IT Infrastructure Operations and Engineering will drive a US-based team comprised of security, server, voice, and end user technology professionals to engineer, operate and maintain the US IT infrastructure at Equinix. While the team is based in, and primarily focused on, the US, they do, however, help to drive IT infrastructure standards across the world.
Key Responsibilities: *Responsible for IT infrastructure standards that will be globally deployed. Provide global technical leadership around these standards. Design and architect IT infrastructure solutions for all internal and externally-facing Equinix programs without having to rely solely on external resources. Improve centralized hardware and operating system standards for the company to keep variations low and operational capability high. Interface with the Office of the CTO and our Customers at a senior technical leadership level. *Responsible for working with the Global Marketing and Product Development team on new product initiatives and provide leading insight on emerging technologies such as cloud computing, network-to-network interface (NNI), and other potentially disruptive technologies in the IT marketplace. Be a knowledgeable and active participant in the innovation process for new products and services across the organization, including helping to drive pragmatic solutions for our customers. *Responsible for working with the Office of the CTO and with our Customers on detailed technical solutions and issues. Be able to communicate effectively at all levels - from CIOs to 'netheads' - as well senior business executives on Equinix's value proposition and the trends, challenges and solutions in the IT industry. *Manage the Global Information Security program and help create practical information security policies and manage the forensic evidence process. *May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications *Bachelor's Degree in technology or business is required. *Master's Degree in technology or business would be preferred. *At least 10 years experience in the high tech industry. *At least 10 years experience in IT (Information Technology) in support of security, servers, voice, and end user support. *A minimum of 5-7 years in managing global deployments, global teams and/or matrixed project teams. *A minimum of 5-7 years experience in managing team sizes equal to or greater than 5-7 direct reports.
