The Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing analytic and financial modeling support for a broad range of wind energy project development opportunities. This will include the derivation of pricing scenarios for power purchase agreements, project and portfolio valuations, and development of valuation tools and processes in support of strategic decision making. The position is required to work closely in a team atmosphere with members of the business development and project development teams. The level of urgency and criticality surrounding assignments can be extremely high so organizational, time management and communication skills are critical for success.

Responsibilities

* Create, update, modify as necessary and maintain project pricing and sensitivity models developed in MS Excel
* Manage collection, and organization of critical data sets received from subject matter experts and used as inputs into financial models. These data sets include information regarding wind speed and energy production, construction costs, turbine pricing, and tax obligations.
* Monitor changes in tax regulations and incorporate these changing conditions into project financing and valuation models.
* Perform ad-hoc economic modeling to support tactical and strategic decisions. Examples include partnership tax effects, competitive analysis, and reconciliation of independent model results with JV partners or equity sponsors.
* Create and maintain project valuation and pricing screening models used by business development and project development team members.
* Lead on-going effort to continuously enhance financial modeling tools and build consensus around standard set of assumptions used in these tools.

Minimum Job Requirements

* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to present overarching results along with the granular details of how these results were achieved.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at once.
* Extensive experience constructing and utilizing financial models, preferable for large scale capital intense development projects with multiple years of cash flow and/or wind energy projects.
* Ability to work within a team atmosphere striving to achieve critical goals/deadlines.
* A polite and professional manner
* Sound technical skills, analytical abilities, good judgment and internal customer focus.
* Master's degree in business administration with emphasis in financing preferred
* Deep understanding and relevant experience applying project finance rules and tax regulations
* Expert proficiency in MS Excel and ability to fluently use Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience developing information management systems with Access is beneficial.
* Experience in the wind industry desired, but not required.
