Primary Characteristics: The Sr. Telecom Engineer is responsible for analyzing and maintaining the telecommunication functions for EverBank. The Engineer will provide direct support for Avaya ACD and related systems. The position designs and implements ACD call flow (vectoring), telephony hardware and software, provides technical expertise on telephone/computer integration; helps guide and introduce new telephony products for ACD/Call Center functionality.
The successful candidate should possess a thorough knowledge of advance 800 network offerings, LEC network offerings, as well as extensive administration skills in all disciplines mentioned above. A background in forecasting/scheduling software products, IVR/VRU, ICR, digital voice recording products, CTI, WAN/LAN, and desktop operations is a plus.
Essential Functions: * Coordinates rollouts and upgrades to our Customer Service operation and corporate office. * Analyzes complex technical system requirements and problems. * Identifies, defines and implements solutions to operational/capacity issues. * Design enterprise telephony and contact center infrastructures for optimal functionality, security and management. * Administer Switch components of Avaya Definity S8700: CMS, Media Gateways, Port networks etc. * Develop and Enhance CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) aspects of the site. Manage SIP based VoIP network. * Develop operational processes and procedures with Telecommunications Management. * Leads projects from inception to implementation. * Administer Telecomm equipment and software including: T1's & DS3's. * Provide interface with telecomm vendors (i.e. AT&T, MCI, Sprint) and local carriers (i.e. AT&T). * Perform line testing. * Manage toll free numbers and DNIS and line equipment (MUX, CSU/DSU, etc.). * General Telco solution and integration. * Designing interfaces with IVR, BSR and VoIP. * RFP response preparation.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): * Highly experienced with Avaya switch equipment and administration. * Knowledge of Unix. * Knowledge of and experience with VoIP. * Strong IVR experience. * Able to leads projects or subprojects. * Strong experience presenting proposals and recommendations to management and infrastructure support personnel in selecting and implementing architecture decisions. * Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technology (VLAN and QoS). * Strong sense of ownership and proven delivery record. * Self-motivated team player. * Strong organizational skills and strict attention to detail. * Good communication, written skills and listening skills. * Excellent people skills. * Expert knowledge of the PSTN Public Switched Telephone Network and how calls are processed. * 24x7 on-call. * Some heavy lifting required. ...
