Job DescriptionThis position has responsibility for managing the activities associated with on floor review and finished product release in the Pharma BU. The incumbent will direct the implementation, deployment and ongoing continuous improvement of the release department consistent with the plant strategic plan. The Pharma Release Manager will ensure compliance to all product and material release requirements in accordance with the quality plan. The position is responsible for developing employees, development and maintenance of the department budget, and ensuring compliance to all applicable state, federal and international regulations.Manages the activities of the Pharma product release department. Implements the quality systems procedures in the product release and floor batch record reviews. This includes supervising staff working on all 5 shifts. Understands and assures conformance to regulations and interfaces with regulators during inspections. May participate in or manage quality assessments of internal operations and suppliers to analyze compliance and assess risk. Interacts frequently with internal subordinate supervisors, functional peer and senior group managers. Manages interactions with regulators and customers to represent the company products and processes. Identifies and manages continuous improvement projects with the objective of achieving quality, reliability and cost improvements. Develops budget for several sections or departments and ensures adherence to the budget. Manages coaching, training and development of subordinates.Job RequirementsThorough knowledge of applicable procedures, specifications, regulations and standards. Ability to manage/supervise a large team of employees Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Strong communication and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal/communication/influencing/negotiation skills Strong project management skills. BS in science or engineering; advanced degree helpful. 7 years in of experience in Quality. 3-5 years of supervisor/management experience.
