North Tonawanda. YWCA of the Tonawandas. SUPERVISED VISITATION COUNSELOR

Facilitate, document and supervised visitation between parents and children that are separated by court order and/or pending litigation. Provide professional administration of the program based on experience, discretion, judgment and consultation with the Director of Family and Human Services (provide individual counseling for children 2-14 years of age & provide therapeutic Supervised Visitation intervention) - maintaining records for all clients. Will work with Erie and Niagara County Family and Criminal Court Systems. Provide confidential records on each family, perform necessary record keeping, and write follow-up reports. Complete monthly statistics. Refer clients to appropriate services. Continually update program protocols, rules, brochures and other paperwork. REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Masters Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology Education or closely related field; considerable knowledge of the causes, treatment and prevention of Domestic Violence; Must have Domestic Violence counseling experience with children, excellent observation and written communication skills & flexibilty; knowledge and experience working with at risk children & families; knowledge of child-development needs and issues; ability to assist parents, where necessary, with parenting skills; understanding of the dynamics of separation and divorce, including the impact on children and their parents; basic understanding of laws governing separation and divorce Strong organizational skills and professionalism. Valid driver's license and own car are needed. Part time, Sat (day) & Wed (evening) up to 15 hours per week. Pay range $11-12/hr. negotiable depending on experience.
