The Psychiatric Screener provides care in the acute care setting within the scope of practice defined by the Screening Law and other regulatory standards. Assures safety in practice by maintaining a realization of their own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge by communicating with and utilizing resource persons/programs available. The Psychiatric Screener individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs. Works in harmony with other staff members of interdisciplinary team, assisting the Patient Care Manager and others as needed, to achieve best service possible to patients. Responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate support personnel and for consistently setting and evaluating priorities. Education/Training/Certification/Licensure: BA/BS degree in related field, plus three years of prior experience in a psychiatric setting, one of which is in crisis setting or enrolled in a Master's program with two years of prior experience in a psychiatric setting, one of which is in a crisis setting. Must possess the ability to work in stressful situations.
