Selected candidate will serve as the Integration and Test Engineering manager on the SENTINEL program. In this role the selected candidate will serve as a first line manager of a 12- 18 person team responsible for system integration testing and final acceptance testing. The candidate will be responsible for staffing the test engineering team with individuals having the appropriate test background and tool knowledge to successfully develop and execute tests. As a first line manager the successful candidate will also be responsible for career development discussions, merit planning, and performance reviews.
In addition, the successful candidate will mentor junior test engineers on developing test plans, test cases, and test procedures while reviewing the work of more senior members of the team to ensure compliance with test processes. As needed the Test Engineering manager will provide surge support developing test cases. The successful candidate will coordinate efforts between Test Engineering and Systems Engineering to ensure that all requirements are verified during system and final testing. The test engineering manager will also be responsible for ensuring coordination between test engineering and architecture to document the test architecture, update the BOM if needed, and identify GFx to establish the necessary test environements. The test engineering manager will coordinate closely with the development IPT leads to ensure continuous communication between testing and development organizations is maintained. The test engineering manager will be the primary spokesperson for the test engineering team at ERBs and TERBs. The test engineering manager will continuously review the teams schedule, cost, and technical concerns and when appropriate document risks for the ROMB and manage the risk. Finally, the test engineering manager will periodically review the test engineering process, recommend changes, and capture those changes in the Test Engineering Management Plan (TEMP).
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) supporting both schedule development and variance analysis. In addition, the test engineering manager will be responsble for defining and collecting metrics to support BOEs for RFCs, impact assessments for change requests, and determining resource loading/task duration when developing schedules.** Required Active DoD Top Secret Clearance * 10+ years of test engineering experience - planning tests, developing test cases, writing test procedures, executing test cases, documenting defects, and coordinating resolution of defects with development on mid-to-large scale systems * 5+ years of experience leading a team of 5-10 test engineers. Experience must include mentoring/training junior test engineers to ensure that they understand and can successfully implement the test process. * 2+ years of experience developing schedules (task duration, task logic, resource loading) and conducting variance analysis * 2+ years of experience as a first line manager with experience conducting performance discussions, merit planning, and other activities * Demonstrated experience implementing automated test tools and successfully utilizing those tools to reduce testing timelines * Demonstrated experience identifying and collecting quantifiable metrics for tracking schedule progress and devloping estimates to perform test activities * Familiarity with architecture principles and ability to communicate with architects to effectively capture a test architecture * Demonstrated experience evaluating existing processes, identifying process improvements, and successfully implementing process improvements * 2+ years of experience identifying, documenting, and managing risks * Excellent oral and written communication skills
