Description: The Wind Power Director will be responsible for all aspects of business development working in a highly collaborative manner with business development representatives, strategic marketing, proposal development and operations centers for utility-scale wind power projects in the USLAC Region. Responsibilities will include identification and interface with electric utility and project developer customers to develop relationships and obtain new project work, proposal preparation, support to operations in developing project teams for execution of the work, and support of operations in ensuring quality of project delivery / customer satisfaction. Projects may include feasibility studies, wind resource assessments, micro-siting, technology assessments, cost estimates, permitting, and/or BOP detailed engineering/design/construction management/commissioning, PMC and EPC working with alliance constructors for commercial projects. The Wind Power Director will assist the Renewable Energy Group Director with developing the overall capabilities of the group and implementing the group's business plan. Requirements: BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field; Professional Engineering (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Chemical Engineering (CE) or Electrical Engineering (EE); minimum of 4 years utility-scale wind power energy experience; 10+ years of business development and project management experience for utility-scale power engineering projects. Manages multiple, related functional disciplines or a single highly specialized complex function; Develops and implements strategic programs and policies for their functional group, which will have impact on the overall organization; Complex project management capabilities including but not limited to experience using multi-discipline engineering and procurement teams with construction partners; Works with executive management on significant matters influencing the organization’s business results, which may or may not include global strategies; Track record of business acquisition in the power industry ; Thorough knowledge of the utility-scale power industry and contracts within the industry; experience working successfully in matrix organizations; Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to functional area of expertise; Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information. The ability to effectively communicate and present complex program proposals and reports to executive level management is critical. Ability to persuade and influence others is critical. Participative management style with a cooperative team approach. Proven leadership skills in multi-cultural and possibly multi-national environments. Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
