|
Under limited supervision, operates computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) systems to produce complex drawings. Installs and maintains the CAD systems database. Interfaces with all levels of JCI and customers' staff to produce complete engineering drawing layout packages.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES:
ııı Provides CAD design services in support of client modifications and construction projects. Creates reports and drawings on a regular basis or as requested by JCI or customer's staff. Works independently with the customer and the customer's vendors and other third party providers as it relates to CAD, space allocation and move related matters.
ııı Revises existing CAD drawings to meet defined standards. Updates and issues CAD space plans and maintains CAD departmental block plans and square footage reports.
ııı Maintains the CAD database and provides JCI or the customer's staff with directions on the use of the CAD/Engineering systems. Provides telephone and on site support to end users for CAD/Engineering software application, workstation, and server plotter. Resolves CAD hardware and software conflicts, and coordinates solutions with other IT resources as necessary.
ııı Maintains CAD files for furniture as-builds, space boundary, space display and standards.
ııı May approve or deny occupancy change requests based on established policies. Provides the customer with cost estimates and space alternatives.
ııı Finds and files drawings as needed in both paper and electronic formats.
ııı Locates and collects data for input to the CAD system database from documentation and field verification obtained from engineers. Revise CAD drawings to reflect actual conditions, including site, space allocation and facility system plans.
ııı Performs maintenance on and orders supplies for the department plotters and printers.
ııı Performs daily back-ups of all documents and system files.
ııı Acts as a lead on technical guidance for CAD standards and procedures development. Understands and updates customer's standards and requirements.
ııı Identifies current and future departmental needs and plans system and application upgrades by actively researching products, evaluating industry trends and maintaining close working relationships with software developers and hardware suppliers. Interprets and evaluates information gathered from industry publications, newsletters and vendor conferences and makes recommendations for system enhancements.
ııı Installs, configures, tests, implements, monitors, and maintains complex CAD application software and hardware on shared client/server computer facilities.
ııı Import and translate vendors files to conform to the software and standards established by the department.
ııı Identifies, recommends, develops and coordinates training programs on CAD systems and Space Allocation.
ııı Performs other job-related duties as requested.
