|
General Managers are responsible for establishing and maintaining superior customer service levels. General Managersoversee andare accountable for the operation of a retail facility by ensuring maximum sales and profitability through the following: effective merchandising; human resources management; team development; inventory management; containment ofoperating costs and managing shrinkage levels.
Principal Responsibilities: ııı Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly, welcoming environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of The Hess Way
ııı Analyze and measure business trends; develop and implement plans to maximize sales and meet or exceed goals and objectives
ııı Control shrink, expenses, and payroll
ııı Ensure appropriate merchandise stock levels, merchandise presentation, signing, and assortment in all departments; ensure selling floor is adequately stocked
ııı Comparison shop and report results; share information with supervisor, corporate office and make appropriate price adjustments as required
ııı Review store trends. Recommend and initiate changes for maximizing goals and objectives
ııı Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular management and staff meetings, store walk-thru's, audits, etc.
ııı Continually evaluate and react to performance issues and actively recruit high caliber associates, supervisors and management personnel
ııı Train and develop store management in all aspects of the business; direct and monitor training and development for all store level personnel
ııı Any other responsibilities as assigned
Essential Requirements: ııı Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system
ııı Ability to communicate with associates and customers
ııı Ability to understand, comprehend and complete all documentation
ııı Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area
ııı Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the facility.
ııı Ability to climb ladders
ııı Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds
ııı Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends and holidays

ııı Knowledge of sanitation and cleanliness standards
ııı Prior retail management and/or restaurant management experience
