Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in Psychology, trained in psychological testing and measurement. Two years of post-doctoral experience preferable in a correctional/ forensic setting. Requires an unrestricted permit to practice psychology in New Jersey (license) by the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiner.
Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Employees will be subject to and must comply with all security regulations and procedures of NJ Department of Corrections and the assigned facility(ies) including, but not limited to sign in logs or electronic time clocks, searches of person and property, etc. Violations of NJ Department of Corrections and/or being banned by the DOC to work at a NJ DOC facility are grounds for disciplinary action and potential termination.
Responsibilities:
Completes specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of adult inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections. Arrives at DSM IV multi-axial diagnoses with precision and accuracy by the end of the evaluation session. Develops treatment plans. Makes clinically based decisions regarding appropriateness for treatment, as well as preferred treatment modality. Assesses and makes referrals for higher levels of care, as appropriate. Demonstrates competency in recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates (ages 18-64) and senior (ages 65+ years) and their families. Skilled in providing group, individual and family therapies.
Location: Central Reception and Assessment Facility in West Trenton, New Jersey.
Valid Driver's License. Must posses own vehhicle.
