California Prison Health Care Services was created to restore a constitutional level of health care for the 170,000 inmates in California's correctional facilities. Providing quality care for people who previously had no voice in their own care is a noble cause and epic in scope. It requires individuals with an exceptional dedication to their profession and their patients. A Clinical Dietitian plans regular and special therapeutic diets, for inmates; gathers information on inmate's nutritional history and assesses nutritional needs, documents and records individual nutritional assessments; assists, and advises clinical personnel on any special nutritional needs of inmates; interprets prescription for special diets; provides diet instructions for inmates on special diets; participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team; authorizes substitution or modification of special diets; assists in planning and conducting in-service training programs for food personnel and other staff as needed.
*Starting Salary: $4,193.00/monthly

*Salaries will be adjusted accordingly to comply with the provisions of the current furlough programs. Requirements:
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. (Applicants who are eligible to apply for registration will be admitted to the examination but must become registered to be eligible for appointment)
And
Education: Equivalent to graduation from college with a major in Dietetics or Institutional Management from a Coordinated undergraduate dietetic program or a formalized post-baccalaureate education program approved by the American Dietetic Association. Applicants possessing the required license/certificate at the time of application must show number, title, and expiration date on their examination application.
