Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited college/university physician assistant program with current certification/licensure in the state employment.
Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Employees will be subject to and must comply with all security regulations and procedures of NJ Department of Corrections and the assigned facility(ies) including, but not limited to sign in logs or electronic time clocks, searches of person and property, etc. Violations of NJ Department of Corrections and/or being banned by the Department of Corrections' facility are grounds for a disciplinary action and potential termination.
Responsibilities:
Site Administrator with clinical supervision provided by the Medical Director and/or Licensed Physician. Ensures that the total health needs of inmates within New Jersey Department of Corrections are met. This includes medical care to adolescents (16 to 18 years), adults (18-64 years), and geriatrics (65+). Utilizes the medical model to meet a variety of healthcare needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus. Works with a variety of healthcare professionals and correctional officers in a correctional environment providing health services to inmates. Provides basic medical services under a collaborating licensed physician.
This is a per diem position.
