As a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist for Rehab Without Walls®, you will:
*Evaluate the work and educational history, interest, aptitude, ability, and physical skill of person served to assess vocational potential and necessary training. Develop, along with other members of the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team, a vocational rehabilitation treatment plan that is based on evaluation results and goals of person receiving services.
*Administer direct treatment, utilizing vocational rehabilitation techniques. Set up programs to build the skills necessary to progress persons served toward the highest level of independent functioning. Emphasize skills related to vocational pursuits.
*Design a pre-vocational program to measure the current skills, abilities, and interests of person receiving services. Oversee individual program/treatment plan implemented by supported rehabilitative staff.
*Design community reintegration activities to assist the person receiving services with their vocational needs during physical activity.
*Provide training to the person receiving services and, as appropriate, all others involved in their rehabilitation.
*Perform a thorough evaluation, assessing the needs of the person receiving services, and set measurable objectives that are formulated in conjunction with the rehabilitation team. Adjust treatment to achieve maximum results.
Qualifications
*Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or the equivalent
*Two years vocational counseling experience with individuals with neurological impairments
*Knowledge of complex neurologic injury and orthopedic rehabilitation techniques generally required
*Professional license and/or certification as required by the state of practice
*Effective communication skills
