This Converged Engineer position is a hands-on technical position that reports to the Manager of the Voice and Telephony Engineering and Delivery Team. This position provides technical expertise and leadership for enterprise integrated, converged network systems at KP. The position will lead the network design development process thru the full implementation and deployment phases and will participate in the KPIT governance and approval processes as part of the network design and deployment life cycle. Additionally, this engineer will be very hands on during the implementation phases, Change management, Level 3 support. Job functions include the following areas: Converged Network Engineering design packages Low level design Local Area Network design Wide Area Network design QoS Routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF) Router/switch deployment/configurations VoIP solution deployment/configuration WLAN solution deployment/configuration Consults with clients to determine telephony requirements and recommend solutions in accordance with standard system procedures Telephony and data problem resolution, escalation, and after-hours support coordination. Technical Attributes: 1. Intimately familiar with Multimedia, voice/data/video convergence technologies and solutions, Point-to-Point, Multipoint, Streaming technologies, VoIP, Network Security, VPN, TDM PBX integration, QSIG, T1 CAS, AMIS, Videoconferencing, IP networking, QOS, multicasting, Carrier Ethernet, MetroE, EVC, H.323 (standard definition and high definition), H.320, SCCP, SIP, MCU, Gateway, Gatekeeper. Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP, PIM, EIGRP. Video Codecs:H.261, H.263, and H.264 Audio codecs :G.711, G.722, G.722.1, G.723.1, G.728, and G.729A. Products: Cisco, Avaya, Tandberg, Polycom 2. Collaboration/groupware application integration engineering to include Meetingplace, WebEx. 3. Hands-on experience designing and implementing HA networks, LAN, WAN, WLAN, CUCM, Unity, CER, UCCX, UCCE/CVP, IPCCE. 4. Hands-on experience with Engineering Design Package development, large enterprise governance processes and Enterprise Change Management processes. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, or related discipline or four additional years of equivalent work experience - 12 or more years of IT experience - 7 to 10 years in the networking/telecommunications industry. - 7 or more years of LAN/WAN/Converged Networks Engineering experience in a Global Enterprise Environment - 7 to 10 years experience with Cisco equipment - 5 or more years experience designing, evaluating and recommending converged networking solutions - 5 or more years working with telecommunications vendors. - 3 to 5 years experience designing and deploying enterprise level Cisco UC VoIP solutions. - 1 or more years experience in network security - 1 or more years VPN experience - 5 more years experience with large construction projects Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience in network services within the health care industry is desirable - Cisco Certifications: CCNP, CCVP, CCIE - Industry Certifications desired: DVEP - Digital Video Engineering Professional CEA - Certified Audio Engineer CEV - Certified Video Engineer CVCE - Certified Video Conference Engineer
