Our client, located in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior System Administrator for an immediate Contract to Hire position.

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

This is part of the server build team.



Responsibilities include:



.

Provide operational support for server operating system platforms including Microsoft Windows, Novell Netware

.

Plan, design and implement new Intel-based server solutions.

.

Integrate MS Windows solutions with other platform technologies (i.e Database, other operating systems)

.

Install and configure new software and hardware as required.

.

Provide input and participate in strategic planning sessions.

.

Demonstrate strong organizational, technical validation and documentation skills.

.

Understand and comply with defined standards for FDA regulated IT environments.

.

Support internal and external customers as needed

.

Receives general direction from manager

.

Provides technical leadership to peers and junior personnel within Infrastructure Services

.

May perform management functions in absence of manager

.

May act as a technical project manager for major projects



Technical requirements include:

HP Hardware (servers and blades), MS Clustering (Windows 2003/2008), Sharepoint, Exchange, and Active Directory.


Storage, Windows 2008 and Networking experience is preferred but not required.



Required Job Specifications

.

At least 8 years of experience in a similar role, managing and maintaining large IT environments with emphasis on High Availability and business continuity (clustering and redundancy, backup and restore solutions, disaster recovery procedures) production and/or mission critical environments

.

BA/BS in any area of the sciences or engineering

.

Knowledge of Microsoft Windows PC Operating Systems including
NT/2000/XP

.

Network Operating System products including Novell Netware/NDS and Microsoft Windows NT and Windows 2000/2003
Active Directory

.

Ability to support infrastructure technologies including Citrix terminal services, VMWare virtual server, RSA Secure ID, SSL Based Remote Access.

.

Experience with management tools to support desktop environment.

.

Ability to manage the day to day office IT support (file/mail/print/domain servers, network, end user desktop/laptops, disaster recovery, etc.)

.

Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to communicate with external clients and internal team members.

.

Excellent ability to handle significant workload with experience in managing multiple projects concurrently in a matrix process environment

.

Proven ability to multi-task, work in fast-paced environment and prioritize

.

Willingness to work evenings and weekends, when necessary.
