Company: Nationwide Childrens Hospital (Formerly Columbus Childrens Facility: Nationwide Childrens Hospital at Columbus Department: Info Svcs - Management Staff GENERAL SUMMARY The IS Manager, Desktop Services role is responsible for the development and/or acquisition, implementation, and management of information systems related to desktop and laptop computer, personal digital assistants, mobile computing devices, and telephony devices as assigned. This position is also responsible for: effective management of staff and budgets the development of systems and processes based on ITIL to ensure quality customer service standardization of all desktop systems hardware and software seeking out process improvements and analyzing opportunities to enhance efficiency the adaptation and implementation of a new project management methodology planning and budgeting, including the enhancement, development, and implementation of IS capital improvement processes vendor contract negotiations and ensuring optimization of vendor performance outcomes technology planning for system optimizations and new technology options In addition, this position is responsible for resolving desktop services issues throughout the hospital in support of the organizations operational, management, business, marketing, and strategic planning needs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in computer information science, management, healthcare administration, or a healthcare-related field. 3-5 years of experience in hospital information systems management, project management, and systems implementations. Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills required to interact effectively with all hospital staff, medical staff, and external contacts (i.e. vendors). Ability to communicate information service concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. Strong written, verbal, and listening skills are required with the ability to present effectively to small and large audiences. Project management experience with superior achievements. Strong analytical skills required to analyze existing procedures and recommend modifications, coordinate system implementations and evaluations, and develop and monitor budgets. Organizational skills to effectively and efficiently manage the tremendous number of policies, procedures and other information services documentation. Strong sense of individual accountability while being an excellent team player. Ability to modify work schedules and practices to meet job requirements. MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position requires ability to talk, listen, and type. Ability to interact with customers and information systems personnel.
