Company: Maine Medical Center Facility: Maine Medical Center at Portland Department: Food Services SUMMARY OF POSITION DESCRIPTION: Reports to departmental manager and is responsible for ensuring established Nutrition Services procedures withing the department. Administers the orientation, training, and Performance Improvement programs. Maintains appropriate staffing levels for identified areas. Responsible for job assignments and distribution of work assignments. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 1. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation principles acquired from National Restaurant Associationss ServSafe certification program in order to effectively oversee and direct various nutrition services activities. 2. Communication, organization, and analytical skills normally acquired through a two year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 3. Two to three years of progressively more responsible related work experience necessary in order to gain a full knowledge of institutional Nutritional Services processes and learn related city, state, FDA, and JAHCO regulatory codes. 4. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with subordinates and other hospital personnel. 5. Analytical skills necessary in order to gather and analyze financial data, assist in the development of policies and procedures, and evaluate new products, supplies and equipment.
