Company: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center (Formerly-United Medical Ce Facility: Cheyenne Regional Medical Center at Cheyenne Department: Surgical ROLE SUMMARY Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and supervises individual patient care according to unit policies. Responsible for immediate problem resolution to improve patient, staff, and physician satisfaction. Assists Clinical Nurse Manager in prioritizing and facilitating high standard patient care. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Provides support to the Clinical Nurse Manager in areas including hiring, scheduling, performance management, staff development, employee relations, quality improvement and policy review. 2. Responsible for coordination of patient care in collaboration with physicians to achieve quality outcomes. Responsible for immediate and direct complaint intervention and resolution. 3. Participates in ongoing evaluation of patients, assuring efficiency of communication with patients, follow-up and flow through the system. Performs daily rounds on the floors to assess patients and possible critical situations to determine patient care needs and outcomes. 4. Assists in the identification and management of patient and family educational needs. 5. Participates in collection and preparation of reports of patient care activities. Conducts nursing audits and takes part in quality nursing improvement activities. Oversight of charging and documentation accuracy, including review and analysis of effectiveness of nursing interventions. 6. Coordinates patient care with ancillary departments to include Lab, Radiology, Cardiopulmonary, Social Workers, etc., internal and external facilitation of all entities involved, and other health care team members. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES - Ability to assess a patients condition, formulate plan of care, select appropriate interventions, evaluate patients response to plan of care and to explain to patient/family about this process. - Ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem solve using critical thinking; and perform calculations.
