Company: JPS Health Network Facility: John Peter Smith Hospital at Fort Worth Department: JPS Hospital Outpatient Pharmacy Job Title: Certified Pharmacy Technician AmbulatoryJob Code: 7180771501 Description: Under the general supervision of the Pharmacist in Charge and direct supervision of the Staff Pharmacists, processes prescriptions for outpatients and employees. Types labels, enters patient information into the computer system and assists in the filling of prescriptions for all age groups. Assists in the daily distribution of prescriptions to community clinics. Maintains pharmacy records and assists pharmacists as needed to insure compliance with regulatory agencies.Typical Duties: -Assists in filling new prescriptions and processing refill prescriptions. -Assists in problem solving in matters relating to the pharmacy. -Assists patients with prescription needs and provides excellent customer service directly and via the telephone. -Assists with prescription and pharmacy report filing. -Cooperates in maintaining a clean, orderly, safe, and professional environment. -Distributes prescriptions to community clinics as required. (Central Fill only) -Documents incidents and activities as required by the department. -Enters patient information and prescription information into the computer for patients/employees of all age groups. -Performs other duties consistent with goals of the pharmacy department. -Prepares and tracks prescriptions to be mailed. (Central Fill only) -Returns medications to stock in alphabetical order. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Pharmacy Technician Certification required. Customer service skills required. Some college preferred. Minimum of six-months previous pharmacy experience required. Knowledge of state and federal drug reimbursement programs preferred. Knowledge of third party coverage preferred. Bilingual helpful. FT Various/Rotating Shift
